Once temporary home to President James Madison and wife Dolley, now American Architectural Foundation's museum, dedicated to architecture and design. Historic house, circa 1800, designed by William Thornton, U.S. Capitol architect. Period rooms with rotating exhibits. Free. Self-guided tours Th-Sa 1-4 pm. Call ahead.
