D.C.’s next breakout band? U.S. Royalty certainly looks the part. Sure, the indie rockers’ debut album “Mirrors” is getting national buzz for what Spin calls “slick, California-tinged rock ’n’ roll.” But now it’s their sartorial selections that turn heads. Named “best-dressed” by Esquire at the latest CMJ music festival, U.S. Royalty also caught the attention of Gant Rugger, a Swedish fashion label of “Americana” menswear. Outfitted in Gant’s spring collection, front man John Thornley plus band mates star in promos set to their song “Vacation Vacation.” Designer Christopher Bastin dubs the clothing line “Gangs of New Haven”—for “tough guys who like a good OCBD [Oxford cloth button-down].” Find the gear at 14th Street’s hip Rue 14.
