Southeast of Tucson, the 2,000-acre park showcases pristine Sonoran desert as well as the crystal-laden Colossal Cave and historic La Posta Quemada Ranch, which houses exhibits on the human and natural history of the area. Reservations are not required for the regular tours, but to experience the ladder, candlelight or wild (18 and older) cave tours, call ahead. Experience the mountain park from horseback on one-hour to all-day trail rides.
