Ybor City

Once famous as the Cigar Capital of the World, this National Historic Landmark District has become a hot spot for shopping and entertainment. During the day, visit the Ybor City State Museum to learn about the area’s architecture and history. Then hop on a trolley and take in the sights of this now-vibrant neighborhood that was saved from almost total destruction in the name of urban renewal in the 1970s. For dinner, make a reservation at the Columbia Restaurant, Florida’s oldest and most famous Cuban eatery, for a taste of Old Havana. Nightlife pulses along 7th Avenue, and at the heart of the area is Centro Ybor, where entertainment reigns.
