The University of Tampa's ornate towers stand out amid the city's brick-and-mortar and glass structures. The university was once a winter resort built by railroad and shipping magnate Henry B. Plant, with flamboyant buildings decked in ornate Victorian gingerbread and topped with Moorish minarets, domes and cupolas.
