Opera Australia Presents The Marriage of Figaro
"The Marriage of Figaro" is the opera that has it all: lovers and liaisons, disguises and tricks, lust and laughter. The classic comedy, originally scored by Mozart, combines fast-moving libretto with melodic and charming writing to tell the story of tangled aristocratic ties. The love square at the centre of the narrative involves the Countess, who loves the Count, who loves his pretty servant Susanna, whose wedding day it is. Needless to say her groom, Figaro, has no intention of giving up his bride. This new production by Opera Australia will play at Sydney Opera House for a very limited season.
