Nestled between Lake Washington and the foothills of the Cascade Mountains lies Bellevue, Wash., a city of unparalleled shopping, delectable dining and outdoor beauty.
Downtown Bellevue has plenty to see, do, buy and eat, as it is home to The Bellevue Collection, with more than 250 stores and restaurants as well as nightlife including The Parlor Live Comedy Club, Lucky Strike Lanes and a variety of bars. Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square and Bellevue Place, the three buildings that make up The Bellevue Collection, are connected via skybridges, making it an easy one-stop shopping experience.
There are also The Shops at the Bravern, home to luxury brands like Jimmy Choo and Hermès, and department store Neiman Marcus. Or, head to Old Bellevue on Main Street for cute, brick buildings along a cobblestone street. There are a number of excellent restaurants including Bis on Main, as well as shopping.
No visit to Bellevue is complete without a trip to the Bellevue Arts Museum. The focus is on art, craft and design, and the museum features both regional and international exhibits of sculpture, furniture, jewelry and everyday objects.
Spend some time outside while you’re in Bellevue: Visit Bellevue Downtown Park, a popular spot for locals—and their dogs—to exercise. See Lake Washington from its Eastern shores at Meydenbauer Beach Park, which has a swimming beach, a fishing dock and picnic areas. Or visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden, a 53-acre garden full of natural wetlands, a wooded trail and cultivated gardens. You can also get in a game of golf. The Golf Club at Newcastle not only has 36 holes, but also stunning views and a large clubhouse. The restaurants on site also have delicious food and the same great views.
If you’re headed to Bellevue with kids, Bellevue Square has a play area, but also visit the KidsQuest Children’s Museum, with exhibits for kids of all ages, including a special area for the littlest of visitors.
