The Marshall House has the distinction of being one of Savannah’s newest—and oldest—hotels. The 68-room luxury boutique hotel opened its doors August 1, 1999, after an extensive renovation. The hotel occupies the building that housed the original Marshall House, which was built in 1851 and closed in 1957 after a 147-year run, during which it was also a hospital for Union soldiers. The new Marshall House combines its historic past with sophisticated features. Rooms offer pine floors, minibars, CD players, robes, and bathrooms with pedestal sinks. Also available are a 275-square-foot boardroom, a fully equipped business center, a 1,200-square-foot meeting room for corporate and social functions, and 45 Bistro, a restaurant offering fine dining.
