Tenderloin

Home to Little Saigon and parts of the Theater District, the Tenderloin, sometimes called “Lower Nob Hill,” offers some of the best-kept secrets in San Francisco. A great place to score authentic Pakistani and Indian food, as well as find local hangouts for affordable eats, the neighborhood is also home to the Great American Music Hall, a popular venue for live music. A community center-point of the neighborhood is Glide Memorial Church on Ellis Street (at Taylor Street), which has provided social service programs to the city’s homeless for the past 40 years. Glide is a welcoming and raucous spot to visit for song-filled Sunday services.
