Shopping Report: San Francisco's Hayes Valley Neighborhood

A top fashion blogger navigates the city's hippest boutique strip.

San Francisco doesn’t pretend to be a fashion capital like New York or Los Angeles, but our tech-savvy, free-spirited city is home to more fashion bloggers per capita. You’ll also find exceptional shopping here, from an impressive lineup of luxury flagships and department stores to indie and vintage boutiques. We recruited six local style icons to curate a guide to six of San Francisco’s best neighborhoods for browsing and buying.

"I’m a regular in Hayes Valley, one of my favorite spots for an afternoon of strolling and shopping. It has the perfect mix of great shops and yummy treats to keep you fueled up. I usually start with a double fist of green juice from The Juice Shop and a cortado from Ritual, and then I'm ready to power through, ogling amazing lighting at Cisco Home, maybe picking up some fresh flowers at Birch and then power shopping through some of my favorite boutiques."

"Layers are always required in San Francisco, especially in Hayes Valley, where the wind can pick up at a moment’s notice. A blazer is my favorite way to make anything look crisp—even the T-shirt I may have grabbed from the day before!"
