Fillmore Street in San Francisco: A Shopping Report

An insider’s guide to navigating the distinctive retail zone

San Francisco doesn’t pretend to be a fashion capital like New York or Los Angeles, but our tech-savvy, free-spirited city is home to more fashion bloggers per capita. You’ll also find exceptional shopping here, from an impressive lineup of luxury flagships and department stores to indie and vintage boutiques. We recruited six local style icons to curate a guide to six of San Francisco’s best neighborhoods for browsing and buying.

"Fillmore Street offers some of the best of San Francisco. It's a little hilly, but not too much. It has a great mix of locally owned shops and nationally known boutiques. You can spend the whole day on here—start with brunch at Jane or the Grove, take a frozen yogurt break at Fraiche, eat dinner at one of the several amazing restaurants and shop till you drop in between!"

"Pacific Heights is classic and elegant but still fun. I’ll wear lace, a pencil skirt and heels but give it all a twist."
