Point Bonita

Located at the extreme southwestern tip of the Marin Headlands, Point Bonita is home to an active U.S. Coast Guard lighthouse first built in 1855. Accessible via a half-mile hiking trail, it was the third lighthouse on the West Coast, built in response to the many shipwrecks caused by the area’s blinding fog.
