Flowers Vineyards & Winery: A Feast for the Senses

Food and wine pairings among the wild flowers at a newly opened winery

Best known for excellent Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Flowers Vineyards & Winery has a new home along Westside Road, near Healdsburg, just minutes from downtown. The winery went all out turning its campus into an oasis of calm and serenity. Lush vineyards and seasonal wild flowers planted between the rows of vines greet you upon entering Flowers Vineyards & Winery. A rainbow of racemes shines around picnic tables, gazebos, and bloom along trails.

For any visitor to Northern California this place is a must-see! Besides abundant flower beds, fruit trees, and landscaped terraces, it has a wood-fired oven pavilion, a fountain, and a lily pond. Tasting rooms of various sizes are elegant, cozy, conducive to enjoyment and relaxation, and located indoors and outdoors – in large spaces under a vaulted ceiling, in beautifully decorated nooks and crannies, and in the open air.

Flowers Vineyards & Winery now offers destination tastings and an educational culinary pairing program led by the head winemaker Chantal Forthun and a celebrated chef Jamil Peden (with a background from Campo Fina, Woodfour Brewing Company and Applewood Inn).

To have a unique tasting experience, aptly called, House of Flowers, head to the wine country’s newest hot spot, and enjoy the blooms, the wine, and the delicious bites, composed with many locally sourced ingredients, often foraged by the Chef, like wild fennel pollen, strawberries, mushrooms, and figs, lemons, apples, and peaches from the winery’s own orchard.
