Downtown Napa used to have a reputation for getting sleepy come evening, but things have been heating up of late with new places to linger after the sun sets.
Lulu's Kitchen at 1313 Main is a gorgeous upscale tasting lounge (frequented by industry locals) that just started serving creative small plates made with the best fresh, local ingredients to accompany the extensive wine list.
Down the street, the chic and genial Carpe Diem Wine Bar has a tempting happy hour to kick off the evening. Sip from a sophisticated selection of wines from small producers or opt for a full meal from the intriguing menu.
If it’s entertainment you’re after, the beautifully restored art deco Uptown Theatre on the West End offers an intimate setting, with Boz Scaggs, Citizen Cope and Ani DiFranco set to perform this season. More live music can be found at Silo’s, a classy self-dubbed music room where jazz, blues, rock and reggae are paired with local wines and brews in a speakeasy setup behind the Historic Napa Mill.
