Bastille Day Celebration at Bouchon Bistro in Napa Valley

An acclaimed restaurant offers all-French menu

For a memorable wine country visit, drive up to Yountville, California, and take part in the 19th annual Bastille Day celebration on Saturday, July 13. Celebrity Chef Thomas Keller's Michelin-starred Bouchon Bistro puts up a full menu of French delicacies, family friendly activities, live music from Zydeco Flames (New Orleans, Louisiana), and a raffle benefiting Yountville Elementary School.

With ever-increasing crowds coming here to celebrate the French holiday, and with expected 1300 or more people in attendance, the organizers provide plenty of entertainment for children, like a bouncy house, face painting, and a caricature artist working on the premises.

Bouchon Bistro’s Bastille Day festivities will unfold on an adjacent parking lot with multiple stalls and booths, an oyster bar, and a few cocktail tables from 12 to 7 p.m. and will include both traditional and unique French specialties in exchange for food and drink tickets ($3 each) that can be purchased in advance at

The day’s menu will feature champagne splits with sippers to carry around, Brie-L-T sandwiches, Jambon de Bayonne, Coq au Vin, a whole roasted pig, smoked lamb leg with ratatouille, crepes and pommes frites among other wonderful eats, and Bouchon Bakery desserts, including French Macarons and Ice Cream Sandwiches made with chocolate chunk cookies and vanilla ice cream.
