Ipanema & Leblon beach

Ipanema and Leblon are essentially one long curving beach enclosed by the monolithic Dois Irmãos rocks (west) and the Arpoador rocks (east). Ipanema and Leblon are reputedly Rio’s most fashionable stretches of sand, sealed off from Rio in a neat little fairy-tale strip of streets, watched over by twinkling lights on Morro Dois Irmãos hill, ironically one of the city’s largest favelas. Almost all of the city’s best restaurants and high-end shops are here, the streets are clean and safe, the sea is good for swimming and beach hotels.
