Two months out of the year in downtown Raleigh, visitors can experience the Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest celebration, which features wintry activities and an outdoor skating rink made with natural ice. Sponsored by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance in partnership with the City of Raleigh, Winterfest attracts thousands of visitors each year and hosts holiday and winter activities for all ages.
This year's Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest kick-off is Dec. 5, 3-10 p.m., on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. The event features a tree-lighting ceremony, carnival rides, ice skating and more. The ice-skating rink at Raleigh Winterfest welcomes visitors on Nov. 21 and remains open until Jan. 31, 2016.
The Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest ice skating rink is located on the southern end of the 400 block of Fayetteville Street. Admission, including skate rental, is $9 per child or adult.
The Beer and Wine Garden winter social for adults features craft beers, live music and cornhole. Check the website for dates and admission details.
