One of the largest botanical gardens in the world – with more than 20,000 species, the Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem was designed in the Romantic English style, with hills, lakes, and picturesque greenhouses, including the Grand Pavilion, built in the art nouveau style. In addition to the palm house and a whole section dedicated to exotic plants, including orchids, cacti, and carnivorous plants, the on-site museum – perhaps the best of its kind in Central Europe – showcases rare fossils and specimens. Daily 9am–ca. one hour before sunset. Museum closes at 6pm. €6/3.
