Around the World for the Ultimate Selfie

A photographer and adventure rider on a 500-day journey creates the ultimate 360-degree selfie.

You, a scenic place and a phone: It's the basic recipe for cooking up a #travelselfie.

Now, however, the selfie bar has been set ever higher by adventure rider and professional photographer Alex Chacon who sold nearly everything he owned and left his hometown of El Paso, Texas, to set out on a three-year journey around the world. He explored more than 35 countries from his motorcycle, documenting his adventures and raising money for various charitable causes. His trek included a 500-day solo trip from Alaska to Argentina, and along the way Chacon mounted a GoPro camera on a telescoping shaft to document some of his travels to landmarks around the world, and then compiled the footage into one epic selfie travel video.

All of a sudden our selfies at the beach seem a little ho-hum.
