American Tobacco Amphitheater

The American Tobacco Campus reflects the new South’s ability to grow something fresh and in demand on the grounds of its past. The historic campus that once manufactured cigarettes before being abandoned and falling into decline, now houses a 1-million-square-foot mix of restaurants, offices and residential apartments. Visitors flock to the campus on weekends for entertainment. The amphitheater’s stage has a unique design, built at the base of the Lucky Strike tobacco water tower and surrounded by flowing water. More than 2,000 people can fit on the grass leading up to the stage. Go for free live performances, including the Back Porch Music on the Lawn summer series.

The campus has three parking decks to accommodate visitors to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and Durham Performing Arts Center, which make up the American Tobacco District.
