As You Wish Pottery
Browse the shelves for a perfect ceramic piece, from tiles, plates and bowls to animal figurines and keepsake boxes. Choose from a plethora of paint colors, brushes, stencils and sponges and then decorate away. Once you’ve completed your embellishments, As You Wish Pottery glazes and fires it for a finished product ready for pick-up in a few days. Two classes are available: Beginning Technique (ages 12 and up) and Glass Fusing (ages 10 and up). Seven Valley locations.
Trim a cake, make a flower-shaped bar of soap or select scents for a customized candle. This drop-in craft facility was founded by a father inspired by his daughter, and it draws in artists of all levels looking for a family activity, date-night idea or girls-outing activity.
Newly opened at High Street, this craft emporium is decorated to a T with a penny-laid counter, glittered wall art and orb-like lighting fixtures. Monthly changing project menus might include string-art designs, painted bamboo phone cases, terrariums, bedazzled glassware and more. An enclosed splatter room lets kids and adults create a masterpiece in free-flyin’ style, and wine and beer is served to round out a spirited girls’ night.
Art for Fun! Studio & Gallery
Kids ages 6 to 16 can spend an afternoon working with watercolors, acrylics, pastels, clay or glass in an open-studio setting located in central Phoenix (M-Th 2-4 pm with advance booking). Adult open-studio hours and parties for all ages can also be accommodated.
A variety of jewelry-making and precious metal clay (PMC) classes inspire all levels of crafters at both locations of Bead World. For those who wish to create at home or take another project for the road, browse the beads, clasps and array of other jewelry-making essentials. Bead parties for as many as seven guests are accommodated.

Concerts, theater productions, dance performances and art exhibits are hosted at Mesa Arts Center, and so are myriad classes and workshops for artists and hobbyists. In addition to the full-session classes, the facility offers hour-long to weekend-long workshops ranging from beadwork to sculpture.
Vino & Canvas
A paintbrush in one hand and wine glass in the other is completely acceptable (if not encouraged) at the 21-and-older painting classes held at more than two dozen locations throughout the Valley of the Sun. Book online based on the painting you wish to create; supplies and vino are provided.
Me the Artist
The High Street studio’s artists lead acrylic-on-canvas art classes for all ages. During-open studio hours (W-Su 1-5 pm), guests paint a design of their choosing without instruction. Paint a side-by-side masterpiece the third Friday of each month during date night, go out with the girls for ladies’ night every Thursday ($5 off), or bring the kids to age-specific classes Saturday mornings.
Art of Merlot
Professional artists instruct two- and three-hour-long classes at this Old Town Scottsdale studio. Canvas paintings focus on impressionism, often times recreating works by Van Gogh, Monet and Matisse. BYOB or purchase a glass of wine at the studio.
