The 2020 Automobile Auctions Come to Scottsdale

Each January, all roads lead to Scottsdale as major car auctioneers descend on the Valley, offering some of the world’s most sought-after classic and vintage cars in individual auctions. Whether you’re a serious collector or just love cars, this event will get your engines revving. Here's a look at the 2020 edition.

Barrett-Jackson's 49th Annual Scottsdale Auction, held Jan. 11-19 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, offers some of the world’s finest classic muscle cars, luxury imports and supercars. Classic muscle finds include an extremely rare Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 COPO, #59 of 69 built for the 1969 model year, and a 1966 Ford Fairlane 50 GT-X prototype with an entirely stock engine and all original and period-correct parts. Also on the auction block are professionally built, award-winning Resto-Mods. These include a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible with a 7.0-liter LS7 engine, TREMEC 6-speed transmission and ultrawide Asanti wheels; a 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Edition; and a Tropical Turquoise 1957 Bel Air Custom Convertible. A highlight of the auction is a collection of 21 vehicles from late actor Paul Walker, whose collection includes five 1993 BMW M3 Lightweights.

Russo and Steele

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction takes place this year Jan. 15-19 at the 101 Freeway and North Scottsdale Road. More than 600 cars cross the auction block, including American muscle cars, European sports cars, hot rods and custom cars. Among the cars offered is a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder, one of only 122 that were built. Also up for auction is a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette “Bill Mitchell” COPO Convertible and a 1985 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Downdraft Coupe.

With The Scottsdale Auctions, Gooding & Company creates a thriving automotive marketplace adjacent to Scottsdale Fashion Square Jan. 17- 18 (with viewings Jan. 15-18). Set to cross the auction block: a 1948 Tucker 48, one of only 12 finished in Waltz Blue Metallic, and a 1970 Porsche 914-GT, one of only 11 factory-built examples.
