Get in the Game: Interactive Sports Experiences Around the Valley

Take a step away from the grandstands and get behind the wheel, run the streets or swing a club at these Valley venues and events.

While the Valley is hosting high-profile professional sports tournaments and championships throughout January, take a step away from the grandstands and get into the game at these interactive sports experiences.

Pedal to the Metal

Buckle up in the driver’s seat of a Formula Mazda or Corvette C7 Stingray and spin the wheel around the turns of Bondurant School of High Performance Driving’s raceway. Or slide on a helmet and jump in the seat of the fanciest go-kart you’ve ever driven for a beginner-to-advanced level trip around the track with your friends. Bondurant in Chandler provides an in-the-real racing experience, with professional lessons, classes and clinics available for racecar enthusiasts. 20000 S. Maricopa Rd., Chandler, 800.842.7223

Run this Town

Each year, Rock ’n’ Roll Arizona competitors take to the streets, running through Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe (Jan. 17-18, 2015). Lace up your running shoes and join the fun in a marathon, half marathon, 10k or 5k; or stake out the course for the perfect spot to cheer on the thousands of fast feet passing by while enjoying the mile-marker live music performances and finish-line headliners OK Go and The Wallflowers.

Swing Away

Take aim for the targets throughout this driving range from one of three levels at Topgolf. Select from seven game options, divide into teams or play individually, and the micro-chipped golf balls keep track of your scores. Each of the Valley’s two Topgolf venues provide the perfect social atmosphere, with indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant seating, more than 200 wall-mounted televisions and upscale, innovative bar food.
