Valley Forge

History abounds in the picturesque Valley Forge area, about 20 miles outside the city. In the winter of 1777-78, around 12,000 of General George Washington’s soldiers camped here. Today, the site is a wonderful spot to hike, bike, or simply take in the scenery.
