Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

The crown jewel of Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts, the Kimmel presents world-class music, dance and theatrical performances on its three stages. Opened in 2001, the complex houses Verizon Hall—a 2,500-seat, cello-shaped concert venue designed specifically for The Philadelphia Orchestra—Perelman Theater, a 650-seat space for more intimate productions, as well as Innovation Theater, a black-box style stage. The Kimmel’s trademark is the spectacular 150-foot vaulted glass ceiling which, in the words of architect Rafael Viñoly, encloses these “two jewels inside a glass box.” Full schedule online.
