Philadelphia Squares

As one of five original parks planned by Philadelphia’s founder William Penn, Franklin Square is a key marker of Penn’s original vision for the city as a green country town. Now operated by Historic Philadelphia, the park opens March 29 at noon for a fresh season of Philly-themed mini-golf, the SquareBurger snack shack, playgrounds, and the “Philadelphia Park” carousel. Stop by on the 29th for the opening-day ceremony, featuring Benjamin Franklin and other VIPs cutting the ribbon for the new permanent space, The Pavilion in Franklin Square.
