Hearts and cupids. Pink everything. Roses and bonbons. Hooray! It must be Valentine’s Day!
It may be your favorite holiday of the year. Or it may be a day that you’d rather ignore. Regardless, there’s no reason not to enjoy it! Who says there’s just one right way to embrace this celebration? Whether you choose to mark the occasion with a little self-care and indulgence, you use it to move on to bigger and better things, or you enjoy an old-fashioned date night with your special guy or gal, we have carefully curated some suggestions for fun ways to celebrate love this V-Day.
...With a Latte
Looking for a different way to give her some roses? Homegrown favorite Barnie’s Coffee celebrates the season with a Rose Tea Latte. As beautiful as it is delicious, the delicately-flavored drink features an artful mixture of rose petals, black tea and honey.
Add a shot of espresso for extra zip and complexity.
...With a Couples’ Spa Treatment
The Ritz-Carlton Spa Orlando, Grande Lakes offers two different ways to connect with your sweetie this Valentine’s Day. Choose from the 50-minute Couples’ Renewal Massage, which incorporates warm salt stones and a keratin foot treatment into the mix.
You can also opt for the ultra-relaxing Couples’ Bath Ritual, a rose-scented milk bath that comes with two glasses of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Or, make it a Galentine’s Gathering by inviting your girlfriend instead, and indulging in a little pampering! Be sure to pencil in extra time to enjoy the spa’s amenities, which include a private pool, saunas, therapeutic whirlpools and more.
Beloved local smokehouse 4Rivers will offer specials at each of its Sweet Shops. Look for tempting treats such as Strawberry Pop Tarts, Chocolate Oreo Cupcakes, and Red Velvet and Chocolate Cakeball Samplers. Also, on Valentine’s Day, show the kiddos that they have your heart with complimentary Cookie Decorating Kits.
...Under the Stars
With balmy winter temperatures, it’s fun to celebrate your V-Day the Central Florida way—outside! And we’ve found two al fresco gatherings to choose from. The Alfond Inn in Winter Park presents its “A Valentine’s Experience Under the Stars”, which includes cocktails in the inn’s conservatory, dinner on the spacious lawn, and entertainment by Johnny Magnuson AKA Mag Sax and Christie Beu. Southwest of Orlando, Lakeland’s charming Bok Tower Gardens hosts Bok After Dark Valentine’s Day, which includes jazz on the garden terrace, dinner, and a concert featured the famed carillon.
...By Moving On
If you’re tempted to sit this one out—don’t! On Vacation Cafe at Margaritaville Orlando Resort will host a “Thank You, Next” Party for all of you who are ready to move on from an ex! On Saturday, February 16, bring a photo or small item that reminds you of your ex to help fuel the festive bonfire!
A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to the Osceola County Fire Department for their favorite charity.
Bonus!...In Traditional Fashion
If you’d rather commemorate the date in a more customary fashion, there’s no shortage of great options for a delicious dinner out. The Villas of Grand Cypress offers a five-course dinner at its special occasion dining venue, Nine18 that includes Florida grouper, chargrilled twin filet of beef, and grilled chicken with potato and corn hash, with a sweet ending of chocolate fondue for two.
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando will offer special menus at both its Italian-inspired Ravello as well as its upscale steakhouse, Capa. At Ravello, dine on a la carte specials that include chilled Maine lobster, filet of beef and a dessert of puff pastry and gianduja. Capa regales guests with king crab, beef tenderloin and a sweet ending of Valrhona chocolate and strawberries.
