Viceroy New York is a welcome addition to its Midtown West neighborhood—near area attractions such as Carnegie Hall and The Museum of Modern Art. A guest’s journey begins with a stop in the Roman and Williams-designed double-height lobby, which evokes an Old New York feel—complete with a nautical-themed, Thomas Hart Benton-inspired mural (composed by Roman and Williams’ Stephen Alesch and painted by local studio Art Space NYC), brass accents, Paonazzo marble, a large bronze map of Manhattan with a red dot marking the hotel, and beige-colored sofas. The back of the lobby features The Library—an intimate space full of books about NYC.
The hotel features several accommodation types, and rooms all boast floor-to-ceiling windows—offering expansive views of the surrounding Manhattan cityscape. The comfortable accommodations give off a luxe vibe with gorgeous caramel-hued chaise lounges, large wooden closets, vintage wallpaper patterns, and exquisite marble bathrooms with mirrors modeled after a ship’s telescope. Modern amenities include Beats by Dr. Dre™ Beatbox Portable™ audio sound system and Smart Phone with Viceroy Connect app.
The sprawling eatery Kingside, a partnership between Gerber Group and Chef Marc Murphy, is Viceroy New York’s street-level restaurant and bar and a great place to grab delectable New American fare and creative cocktails. The rooftop lounge is also a nice place to enjoy a drink and take in the views. The hotel also features a Fitness Center.
