Located in the bustling Times Square area, a trip inside Row NYC leaves guests feeling as if they’ve taken a tour of New York’s trendy downtown neighborhoods without ever leaving Midtown.
Row NYC is all about art, which is evident from the sleek, minimalist lobby—complete with dark wood and neon embellishments, as well as stainless steel drapery; an umbrella-like ceiling, which resembles a giant wooden puzzle; and two large Yorgo Alexopoulos light sculptures on either side of the reception area, which project the New York-based artist’s graphic animation. The lobby also boasts Iconic M, a newsstands that carries a wide selection of international magazines, as well as snacks and travel essentials.
When it comes to the guest rooms, Row NYC keeps it simple: color-blocked accommodations featuring crisp white linens, contemporary white furnishings and a pop of color—inspired by the city’s many subway lines. Beyond reminders of NYC’s mass transit system, five corridors of the hotel each place a different downtown neighborhood front and center, with the Meatpacking District, SoHo, Greenwich Village, East Village and West Village represented by huge action shots of each locale taken by photographer Jim Krantz. The neighborhood theme rotates every five floors. Top-tier accommodations come in the form of two penthouse suites.
District M, the lobby bar and restaurant, serves mouthwatering fare from a number of NYC bakeries and bistros, including Payard, Balthazar and Pain d’Avignon; as well as signature Neapolitan-style, hand-stretched pizzas; and specialty cocktails, wine and craft beer. City Kitchen, an extensive food bazaar comparable to Chelsea Market, is also available.
