“Monet’s Garden-The Immersive Experience” in NYC

Monet´s Garden” is taking the next step of immersive experiences, as rather than just showing the works of the artist on big screens, it truly takes the visitor on a journey through the artist’s life,” Dr. Nepomuk Schessl, Producer of “Monet’s Garden-The Immersive Experience,” told us.

“The visitors will first be able to immerse themselves in the beauty and scent of the garden of Monet, interact with his art and learn about his life and especially his revolutionary way to use the brush, the paint and how he painted the light. In the final chapter, the visitor will be able to experience Monet´s art in 360 degrees and truly dive into his mind and artistic process. This Edutainment approach is what truly sets us apart from other immersive experiences.”

Visitors are guided through a series of galleries, including The Studio, where his legendary art was born, The Garden, modeled after the famous garden in Giverny; and The Showroom, where visitors will be fully immersed in the renowned paintings of Claude Monet. “A total of 48 HD Laser Projectors that are wired with several miles of glass fiber networking,” Schessl explained. “There are infra-red cameras for the interactive paintings where the visitors' actions are processed in real-time, and of course, there are all the elements from our wonderful scenic shop and floral designer.”

Though immersive art exhibits have become more commonplace, “Monet’s Garden-The Immersive Experience” blends digital and real-world elements to create something new and unique. “Immersive shows are a relatively new form of entertainment that so far has been focusing on the digital aspect of it,” Schessl said. “We believe that in blending the more traditional approach of immersing visitors into a topic, like scenic elements, theatrical lighting and, with the new technological possibilities of projections and scent, lies a certain attraction that will make the visitors forget the outside world and enable them to immerse their mind in the world of Monet for some time.”
