This guided bike tour is a fun way to see the city and learn about NYC through storytelling. Loudest Yeller uses bright yellow Brooklyn Bicycle Co. bikes and provides helmets (though feel free to bring your own!) for a safe ride. Rain or shine, up to 16 people can take a tour at a time and all guides have their NYC Sightseeing Guide Licenses. Tours are currently available by reservation only.
Hours: Living City Day Tour begins at 11:00am (daily) and lasts 4.5 hours; Two Bridges Night Bike Tour (nightly) begins at 7:00pm and lasts 4 hours.
The Living City Day Tour ($45 // 4 hours) begins in Williamsburg before boarding the East River Ferry to go to the Financial District of Manhattan. The ride then takes people through Little Italy and Chinatown before stopping for a picnic in Washington Square Park. From there the ride dots it’s way back east and to the Loudest Yeller Bicycle Tour Shop via the Williamsburg Bridge. The riding is very slow and easy and the route is very safe. The tour begins at 11AM every day and uses stories about New York’s characters, like Jane Jacobs, Stanford White, Robert Moses and Edgar Allen Poe, to bring the city to life.
The Two Bridges Night Tour ($45 // 4 hours) was inspired by Greenpoint native, Margret Wise Brown, who wrote the children’s book “Goodnight Moon.” The tour begins with an environmental tour of Greenpoint. Along the route the tour guide discusses the Newtown Creek Oil Spill, Swedish boat building in Greenpoint, water use and treatment in New York City and what gentrification means to the neighborhood of Little Poland. From there the tour makes it’s way over the Brooklyn Bridge for some spectacular views of the city at night. There’s a gelato stop in Little Italy at a place that opened in 1892 and then the ride back goes over the Williamsburg Bridge. This tour begins at 7PM every night.
