Foodie Fest!: New Taste of the Upper West Side

This weekend, the NYC 'hood celebrates it's cuisine scene in big ways (with big chefs)

It's always nice to get a little taste. You know, like when the sommelier asks you to preview the wine before the big pour. Or, when you sample all the flavors at the ice cream shop and then skip without buying a cone (no fibbing—you've done it). But it's not every day that you get to taste an entire NYC neighborhood—more precisely, it's just three days a year. And what tasty days they are.

The New Taste of the Upper West Side, a leading city foodie festival (May 27-31, 2014), now in its 7th annual iteration, lets you get a sweeping sample of the rich culinary culture of the area. The list of participating restaurants is saliva-inducing. Think: Tavern on the Green, Red Farm, Magnolia, Dovetail, Cesca, Carmine's, Blue Ribbon, Shake Shack, The Meatball Shop, Jacob's Pickle's and Parm. And the talent? Appearances will be made by Adam Richman (of the Travel Channel), Jean-Georges Congerichten (no introduction needed), Alex Guarnaschelli (Chef at Butter + Iron Chef), Christina Tosi and Jill Martin. Even the reigning Lord of Dining himself, Daniel Boulud, will accept a tribute during Saturday's event. Get your tix here and check out the schedule below:
