Located within walking distance of the heart of Brooklyn's Williamsburg area, Brooklyn Brewery produces craft beers like its famed Brooklyn Brown, and is open most days into the early evening (for real nightlife, head to one of Williamsburg's many bars). Sign up for a "small batch tour" ($15) to get the insider's view of the brewery's operations (and a chance to taste four beers). The tours aren't massive groups, so sign up early before the spots are gone. Most visitors wind down with a beer or two on the picnic tables in the raw, industrial tasting room and peruse the logoed merchandise at the small gift counter where you also buy tokens (one for $5, five for $20) to obtain pints at the bar. Food trucks often arrive outside, but most brewery visitors head out to Williamsburg's wide range of restaurants after enjoying a couple ales (or around the corner to Brooklyn Bowl for bowling and comfort food).
