The Countdown to Nashville SC's Inaugural Home Opener Is On

Nashville's newest sports team, Nashville Soccer Club, is scheduled to make history this Saturday, March 24, 2018, and to say the city is excited is an understatement. 

The preseason gave fans and competition alike a glimpse into at the United Soccer League (USL) club and its players prior to its inaugural season. The team first took the field before a sell-out home crowd—despite rainy weather—at Tennessee Park against Major League Soccer (MLS) opponent, Atlanta United FC. While the team lost this first match, they have since gained momentum. Their following six games resulted in wins, chalking up to a successful preseason and an announcement that the regular season home opener was rescheduled Nissan Stadium—home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans, with a capacity of nearly 70,000—due to a high demand for tickets.

The craze in the community has extended beyond tickets, too. Nolensville, Tennessee's Mill Creek Brewing Co. has collaborated with Nashville SC to craft a beer in honor of the team, aptly named “Goalden Ale.” The brew will debut at Nissan Stadium during the game, and fans can also look for the suds at bars and restaurants around the city, as well as in Nashville-area Kroger stores.

Nashville SC faces Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in the home opener at 5 pm. Tickets to the game start at $15, and limited season ticket memberships are also still available.
