Whether it’s nine degrees outside or 90, a line of locals starts snaking out the door of Pancake Pantry in Hillsboro Village every weekend starting at 6 am. The problem is not the line, though, it’s choosing between the potato, whole wheat, chocolate chip or sweet potato pancakes once you get to your table. Those not willing to wait can grab coffee and a quick bite on the patio at Jackson’s Bar & Bistro, or a cup of joe at Fido, Nashville’s anti-Starbucks. Once the rest of the city wakes up, shops along the three-block stroll start to open, including Pangaea, a fun and funky place to get great garb; and A Thousand Faces, home to great gifts, custom jewelry and one of the best card selections in the city. In the fall, SEC football is loud, proud and dressed in orange at Sam’s Sports Bar & Grill, as well as at Boscos Brew Pub next door.
