Cooks' Cottage

Originally built in Yorkshire, England, in 1755, Cooks' Cottage was built and owned by the parents of Captain James Cook, the explorer credited with 'discovering' Australia. The cottage, shipped to Australia in 1933, was entirely reconstructed in Melbourne. It is located in the Fitzroy Gardens, which, together with the adjoining Treasury Gardens, are renowned for their monuments and majestic trees.
