Temptation to Co-Exist at Heide Museum of Contemporary Art
Painting, sculpture and neon sit alongside fluoro deck chairs, irreverently painted riot shields and manipulated child car seats in this bright and witty exhibition at Melbourne's Heide Museum of Modern Art. “Temptation to Co-Exist” celebrates four decades of collaboration between groundbreaking conceptual artists Janet Burchill and Jennifer McCamley, who have together been exploring themes of feminism and modernism since the mid-1980s. Cleverly splicing modern pop culture slogans with tongue-in-cheek historical references, then drenching it all in colour, this exhibition will provoke thoughts and knowing smiles alike.
