Shirin Neshat: Dreamers
Since the early 1990s, Iranian-born artist and filmmaker Shirin Neshat has been exploring the complex relationship of feminity to Islam through dreamy portraits and disquieting video works. The current "Dreamers" exhibition at Melbourne's NGV International brings together three video installations that explore Neshat's own personal dreamscapes and nightmares through three female protagonists, beginning with Natalie Portman in "Illusions & Mirrors".
