KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness
Arguably one of the most distinctive artists of his generation, Brian Donnelly, a.k.a. KAWS, makes his Australian debut from September 20 with a massive retrospective exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). Born in 1975, KAWS is known for his playful, toy-like sculptures and paintings that re-appropriate pop culture and engage with feelings of loneliness and isolation, even while being filled with humour, hope and tenderness. The “KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness” exhibition features more than 100 of his most iconic works.
