DESTINY at National Gallery of Victoria
In her first solo show in more than 15 years, Melbourne-based contemporary artist Destiny Deacon reminds us that "serious" art can also have a sense of humour. A descendant of the Kuku and Erub/Mer people of Far North Queensland and Torres Strait, Deacon offers a thoughtful, idiosyncratic and darkly comic view on modern life in Australia through works that span photography, video, sculpture and installation. "DESTINY" is the largest retrospective of the artist's work to date.
