The National Gallery

One of the world’s greatest galleries, with works by Western European masters from the 13th to 19th centuries. Regular guided tours, talks and workshops. Sat-Thur 10am-6pm; Fri 10am-9pm. Admission free; charges for special exhibitions.

To 7 Jul: Sorolla: Master of Light. A chance to see the sun-dappled pieces that made the Impressionist Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida so renowned in the late nineteenth century.

To 11 Aug: Sea Star: Sean Scully. This Irish-American artist presents a series of abstract works, which are predominantly inspired by what he considers to be Turner's most profound painting, The Evening Star. 

To 29 Sep: Bartolomé Bermejo: Master of the Spanish Renaissance. Known as a genuis of the 1400s, Bermejo's fine skill will be celebrated in this free exhibition.
