Like the classic cars, fine art and antique furniture that fill its auction rooms, the new restaurant at Bonhams brings real class to their recently refurbished New Bond Street headquarters.
With space for only 27 covers and a sleek and stylish décor, the restaurant and wine bar offers visitors an intimate yet comfortable setting for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon coffee.
Under the careful guidance of 31-year-old Head Chef Tom Kemble, the kitchen produces creative, elegant and delicious dishes, to form a modern European menu focused on seasonal ingredients. Current stars include the Cornish crab starter and slow-cooked Cumbrian lamb main course.
The wine list, curated by Bonhams' Master of Wine Richard Harvey, showcases some of the finest vintages from around the world, including Domaine Romanée Conti Richebourg 1995 and Screaming Eagle 2011. With the opportunity to see auctions in progress as they leave, diners just have to be careful not to drink one glass too many and buy themselves a Picasso on the way out.
