Container Park
A tribute to the spirit of ingenuity alive and well in Las Vegas, this downtown destination features local shops and restaurants and a live music venue encompassed within 40 brightly colored shipping containers. In the middle, a children's park contains a treehouse with 33-foot-tall slide, a NEOS play system, a wet zone and more. At Fremont and 7th streets, 702.637.4244
Da Vinci: The Exhibition
Kids big and small will marvel at machines that the true Renaissance man used to revolutionize the way humans work and play, such as inventions that pre-dated the helicopter, hang glider and more. The Venetian, 702.414.9000
Dolphin Habitat
There's much more to this environment, designed as an observation and research facility, than meets the eye—there are numerous ways to interact with the dolphins. Book an appointment in the spa to do yoga with the dolphins and find your zen zone in the underwater viewing area. Let a dolphin show you its creative side when you paint away the day with them. Or, indulge in the experience of a lifetime and become a Dolphin Trainer for a Day and make a new flippered friend or two. The Mirage, 702.792.7889
Shark Reef
Home to some of the most menacing creatures known to man—the golden crocodile, Komodo dragon, piranha and more than 100 sharks of 15 species—this aquarium delights with its floor-to-ceiling windows and two tunnels, allowing its inhabitants to swim above, below and beside you. There's also a touch tank in which you can befriend rays and horseshoe crabs. Mandalay Bay, 702.632.4555
Wynn Atrium
Steve Wynn doesn't do anything small—even a simple flower garden becomes a larger-than-life display featuring hot air balloons and carousels. The latest come courtesy of designer Preston Bailey; among them, 110,000 flowers were used. Wynn, 702.770.7070
