Best Pasta in Vegas
From classic old-school specials to creative fusion flavors, this list highlights some of the best quality pasta dishes available to get your carb on. These amazing spots won't let you down the next time you need to carb-load with quality.
Chef James Trees opened this downtown hotspot, named after the family friend who first supported his culinary aspirations. Open daily for lunch and dinner and weekend brunch, Esther's Kitchen is always hopping, so reservations are highly recommended. The carb-centric menu focuses on fresh sourdough with spreads as an appetizer, house-made fresh pasta dishes and a smattering of naturally-leavened pizza options. Best described as "country Italian," the chef's seasonal menu draws from the West coast bounty and the traditions of Italy. You can't go wrong with the chitarra cacio e pepe or spaghetti and meatballs. Still, seasonal specials like the strozzapreti with sausage and agnolotti with seared scallops have regulars coming back every month.
Nora's has been open for nearly 20 years, a Las Vegas staple, serving up family-style Italian classics with heart. The Mauro family's newest location looks like a gorgeous Italian home, complete with warm service and ample portions. Many of the dishes at Nora's Italian are family recipes from the Sicilian matriarch, the namesake Nora. Their pizza and pasta options make up most of the menu, made with house-prepared sauces and fresh spaghetti, linguini, fettuccini, penne, rigatoni and angel hair pastas. Nora's also has gluten-free and whole wheat penne options available for those with dietary restrictions. The baked Alla Nora, Crazy Alfredo and Wild Boar Pappardelle are fan favorites. There's a beautiful upstairs patio space available to reserve for special occasions or group events.
Al Solito Posto
Located just across the street from his wine bar, Chef James Trees opened this second pasta-focused concept at Tivoli Village, with dinner service only and a focus on shared family-style plates. The handmade pasta selection at Al Solito Posto includes the cacio e pepe and spaghetti, along with linguini and clams, rigatoni alla vodka and pappardelle bolognese. Other steak and fish entrees round out the menu, along with one of the best Chicken Parmigianas in town. Swing by for happy hour at the bar to get a taste of this spot while reservations remain in high demand.
Trattoria by Chef Marc
Off the beaten path, Chef Marc's latest restaurant can be found just off-Strip inside the Ahern Hotel. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, visitors will want to time their visit in the evening for the largest selection of Marc Sgrizzi's regional specialties and Italian family favorites. All pastas and breads at Trattoria by Chef Marc are made in-house daily, and meats are cured on-site. The New York-style "My Father's Lasagna" and the Chicken Riggies are staples from his previous restaurant menu, while the Fresh Fusilli Wild Boar, Tagliatelle Oxtail Ragu and Short Rib Malfatti showcase Chef Marc's culinary style.
Japanese style Italian cuisine? Yes, you read that right. Chef Kengo Nakamura's Chinatown restaurant mixes Japanese ingredients with Italian food and technique for specialty dishes you can't find elsewhere, like their best-selling Linguini Uni Tomato Cream. This dish at Trattoria Nakamura-Ya infuses house-made linguini with squid ink for a black pasta, topped with a creamy tomato sauce and a buttery tongue of briny uni. The chef also recommends adding grilled scallop to this dish for those with a heartier appetite. The unique fusion touch is also evident in the desserts section of the menu, with a black sesame blancmange, house-made green tea gelato and soy milk panna cotta with Okinawa-style brown sugar sauce.
Pasta Shop Ristorante
Tucked into a corner space off Horizon Ridge in Henderson, this pasta spot is part restaurant and part art gallery. The walls at Pasta Shop Ristorante are decked with local art available for purchase, including contemporary metalwork, and the space has a fun and eclectic vibe. The menu features fresh-made pasta dishes made with fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables and some of the best meatballs in town. Several menu items are vegetarian, with optional protein add-ons or a vegan version available. Diners can also purchase fresh pasta to take home with them and experiment in their own kitchens. End the night on a sweet note with a selection from the impressive dessert menu, with a dizzying list of double-digit options, all made in-house.
Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria and Deli
Filling a large building in Summerlin, Siena Italian Authentic Trattoria and Deli combine contemporary Italian eatery with an adjacent deli, bakery and marketplace, making it a one-stop-shop to get your Italian food fix or gather the authentic, imported ingredients to do it yourself from the comfort of home. The scratch-made kitchen, led by Chef Giancarlo Bomparola from Milan, features imported meats and cheeses and fresh salads, pizzas, calzones and house-made pasta. The Cavatelli Con Salsiccia (pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe), Lobster Ravioli with lemon cream sauce and stuffed Cannelloni are some of the dishes they are known for after being open for over a decade.
