Buffalo Soldiers National Museum

The first Buffalo Soldiers were members of the Army's all-African-American 9th and 10th Cavalry, who earned their sobriquet from Cheyenne warriors impressed with their fierceness in 1867. The term later came to be applied to all African-American soldiers. The museum tells their history through artifacts, documents and videos.
