The Eye of the Camera

Yul Brynner, the emblematic icon of American stage and cinema, the King of Siam for millions of theater and moviegoers was also an accomplished photographer. For the very first time, 60 of the pictures taken by Yul Brynner between 1956 and 1985 are being exhibited in Paris. The pictures ranging from self-portraits, those captured on film sets to moving family shots reveal the essence and the atmosphere of the years he spent with actors, family and members of high society. His landscapes and still lifes, through their impeccable composition, reveal his genuine talent as a photographer. Portraits of the actor by friends and major photographers are also being shown.

Through Oct 23 at Pierre Passebon-Galerie du Passage, 20/26 Galerie Véro-Dodat (1st), 01 42 36 01 13. Tue-Sat 11 am-7 pm.
