6 Atlanta Eateries With Succulent Vegan Fare

Known for its great barbecue and burgers, Atlanta has plenty of great plant-based options, too.

Atlanta may be known for its great barbecue and burgers, but believe it or not there are plenty of great plant-based options, too! Great news for veg heads, and the carnivores who sometimes just need a break from all that meat. We’ve whittled it down—here are our picks for the best vegetarian and vegan spots around the Big Peach.

Cafe Sunflower

Award-winnng all-vegan fare is the attraction at Cafe Sunflower, in addition to daily-made juices, juice cocktails, craft beer and wine.

Dulce Vegan Bakery and Cafe

Sure, it’s vegan, but sugar fiends of all kinds will find happiness at Dulce Vegan Bakery and Cafe. Try the cupcakes, which come in a variety of flavors, or look out for its specials, like the banana black bottom pie and chocolate sprinkle doughnuts.

Herban Fix

Herban Fix is all vegan, with an emphasis on Asian fusion. Standouts include the pom pom mushroom steak with vegetables and the crispy king oyster mushroom with sesame soy sauce.

Plant Based Pizzeria

A newcomer in town, Plant Based Pizzeria is true to its name. All of the pizzas are vegan and come in incredibly cool combinations. Try the Philly or the Georgia Peach, with peaches, jalapeños and ground vegan sausage.

Slutty Vegan

Cheekily named vegan burgers abound at Slutty Vegan, which first built a reputation as a food truck. Satisfy that burger craving with the Fussy Hussy Impossible Burger patty with pickle, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and sauce on a vegan Hawaiian bun. Don’t forget the slutty fries.

With a crisp white aesthetic, Upbeet looks like it was transported straight out of California. The fast-casual restaurant offers grain and salad bowls with the best bet being the Very Vegan bowl with kale, quinoa, chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, sunflower seeds, lemon and cashew dressing with agave sriracha tofu. Add a housemade lemonade to wash it down.
