Don’t Miss Colorado’s Amazing Butterfly Pavilion

You'll find butterflies, insects, arachnids, sea creatures and more at this family-friendly Westminster destination.
Celebrate springtime at Colorado’s Butterfly Pavilion, where you’ll walk among 1,600 beautiful, free-flying butterflies from tropical rainforests across the globe and get up-close with marine animals, insects, arachnids and more—it’s home to more than 5,000 invertebrate animals in all. Located just 15 minutes north of Denver in Westminster (it’s scheduled to relocate to a Broomfield space twice the size of its current digs in 2021), the Pavilion is the world’s only stand-alone, Association of Zoos & Aquariums-accredited nonprofit invertebrate zoo.The Pavilion’s newest interactive exhibit, "Survival," runs through the end of the year and give a fascinating, up-close look at the incredible ways some of the world’s smallest animals overcome the challenges of an invertebrate world. Visitors can learn about the creatures’ clever adaptations through interactive displays, technology and live animal encounters—including twice-weekly tarantula feedings. Butterfly Pavilion is open year-round from 9 am-5 pm.
