What You Need to Do in Chicago Today: Monday, October 23

This is where we’ll be today.

Fundraiser for Mexico & Puerto Rico @ Latinicity: Nosh on Latin street food and tapas at Latinicity while contributing to the relief efforts in Mexico and Puerto Rico, both of which are still recovering from the recent natural disasters. U.S. Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez helps host. Tickets start at $106. 5 pm, Latinicity, 108 N. State St. (in Block 37).

Creepy Clown Crawl @ Celtic Crown: It’ll be an actual insane clown posse as dozens of regular folks dress up and take down Lincoln Avenue in a late-night stroll to popular bars Celtic Crown, Gideon Welles and Carbon Arc, ending at the Davis Theater for a special screening of creepy clown flick “It.” There is a costume contest, but don’t worry about the makeup—a team of skilled clown artists can paint your face for a small donation. Tickets: $20 (includes movie ticket, popcorn and drink specials). Starts at 6 pm at Celtic Crown, 4301 N. Western Ave.

Conversation—Chris Ware, Daniel Clowes and Anton van Dalen on Saul Steinberg @ Art Institute of Chicago: Comic book and graphic novel fans can head to the Art Institute of Chicago to listen in on a rare conversation between some of the scene’s key illustrators, including Chris Ware (regarded for his New Yorker covers), Chicagoan Daniel Clowes (the man behind Ghost World) and exhibiting artist Anton van Dalen (also a studio assistant for Saul Steinberg, whose drawings are currently on display at the museum). Tickets: $10. 6:30 pm, 111 S. Michigan Ave.
