Navy Pier

Navy Pier is the site of two spectacular NYE parties. In addition to a dazzling spectacle of fireworks at midnight, the venue’s Aon Grand Ballroom and Lakeview Terrace play host to the Chicago Resolution Gala, a one-of-a-kind party that offers 30 open bars, buffet stations and ample dance floors (plus a prime viewing spot for the show in the sky), 8:15 pm to 2 am. Tickets start at $99. The Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier may be one of the prettiest New Year’s Eve venues in the city, set inside a one-acre botanical garden housed within a six-story glass atrium. General Admission tickets include premium top shelf drinks at 20 premium liquor bars and a food station from Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants from 9 pm to 1:30 am. Prohibition New Year's Eve

It’s the Roaring ‘20s all over again at Morgan Manufacturing. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best vintage pieces for this speakeasy-style event, and enjoy a large buffet and five-hour premium cocktail reception plus music and dancing. Tickets start at $109. 401 N. Morgan St.

NYE on the Lake

Chicago Sport & Social Club hosts this year-end bash at the Theater On The Lake in Lincoln Park. In true dramatic fashion, aerialists and unique photo backdrops are planned as are DJs and typical party fare including a five-hour premium drink package and apps. Tickets start at $85. 2401 N. Brew Year's Eve

Artifact Events (part of Architectural Artifacts in Ravenswood) hosts a night of craft beers in swanky digs. More than 10 Chicago breweries and 25 craft beer varieties will be on hand as you work your way around the multiple floors of this loft that features an incredible array of salvaged works. Eataly Chicago: Mezzanotte

On December 31, from 9 pm to 1 am, enjoy food from all of the Italian emporium’s restaurants. There will be an unlimited menu of fresh pasta, risotto, pizza, arancini and wine, cocktails and other drinks served at several bars. For dessert, look forward to plenty of panettone and pandoro, plus pans of tiramisu. A live band and toast at midnight will help ring in 2020. Tickets: $150. 43 E. Ohio St.

SafeHouse Chicago

The spy-themed bar and restaurant hosts a James Bond-themed gala starting at 10 pm with a live DJ, food buffet and hosted bar, plus a sparkling wine toast and a magician presenting plenty of tricks. TAO Chicago

TAO Chicago hosts a New Year’s Eve party as glamorous as the celebrities it attracts. The nightclub hosts a four-hour premium cocktail reception from 9 pm to 1 am along with passed hors d’oeuvres, a midnight champagne toast and a lineup of top DJs. Tickets start at $200/person. At the attached restaurant, serving award-winning Pan-Asian specialties, opt for the third seating at 8:30 pm, which will include a platter of the best dishes on the menu including Tuna Pringles and Seared Salmon Sashimi. Headquarters Bar Arcade

The bar arcade has plenty of vintage Ataris, pinball machines and other game consoles. Zoo Year's Eve

Lincoln Park Zoo hosts this event from 9 pm to 1 am that features glittering lights, a cash bar with beer, wine and champagne, games, prizes, a DJ and special animal enrichment. While several of the zoo's buildings will be closed, there will still be opportunities to see some of the zoo's inhabitants. Super early bird ticket $10; early bird ticket $20. Jake Melnick's Hangover Pajama Brunch

After a late night of partying you’re bound to be hungry. Simply roll out of bed and head to Jake Melnick’s starting at 11 am for build-your-own bloody Mary skewers; a buffet including deep-fried French toast, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, sausage links and more; plus games including giant Jenga.
